19 colleges to attend if you want to be a billionaire

We often hear the dropout-turned-billionaire story, but the majority of uber-wealthy people have graduated college.

According to research firm Wealth-X, 70% of billionaires have a bachelor's degree — and there are certain universities that have produced an impressive number of today's record high 2,473 billionaires.

"Harvard University emerges as the most popular educational destination [for billionaires] by far," the firm reports in its 2015-2016 Billionaire Census. The elite institution has yielded 134 of today's billionaires, twice as many as runner-up Stanford.

Wealth-X provided CNBC with the top "billionaire universities" in the world, along with the number of current billionaires who received degrees (bachelor's, master's, MBA, JD, MD or PhD) from each.
Here, we've highlighted the top 19 schools. To give you an idea of how the average graduate from these universities fares, we also included the median earnings of grads 10 years after enrolling, based on data from the U.S. Department of Education. Note that this data is not available for schools outside of the U.S.

While we can't promise billionaire status if you attend one of these institutions, it can't hurt your odds.
